Rose Tea Berry Smoothie

Last week we had rose tea and this week I am turning it into a much cooler rose tea berry smoothie topped with a mixed berry nice cream. I thought as spring is (almost) in the air something fragrant and vibrant would be the winner. When I think of fragrance I think of flowers. When I think of vibrance I think of berries. Combine the two of these and I think of rose tea berry smoothie. This smoothie is a creamy oat, almond and berry drink with a subtle hint of rose with fresh rose petal tea.

Here I use blueberries, strawberries and blackberries but you can use any berries of your choice. It is blitzed with almond milk, oats and chia seeds so you can have it for breakfast as it is nice and filling and will keep you going all morning. The berry nice cream adds some luxuriousness to the rose tea berry smoothie and you feel like you are almost having a dessert. I like to sip it and then grab my spoon and eat the nice cream at the end!

Berry nice cream is a saviour when on a healthy eating plan especially when you are craving ice cream! Once you have the bananas and fruit frozen in the freezer, it is also an instant dessert. It can also be frozen in a tin lined with greaseproof paper so you can reach for it whenever the feeling takes over. I blitz it in my thermomix with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a dash of dairy free milk.

Rose Petals

These are very calming and mood lifting due to the presence of phytochemicals. As a result they can relieve stress so are a perfect choice of tea in times of stress or if you just want to start the day in a peaceful way! Rose petal tea can also relieve symptoms of sore throats due to its soothing properties. Rose petals also contain Vitamin C and some fibre. They add a delicate floral flavour to any recipe and are often used in Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine. Only organic roses should be used in cooking to avoid pesticides.


Most of us know the excellent nutritional benefits of berries. Packed with antioxidants, the high levels of polyphenols, phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals present in berries help fight immunity against many illnesses and cancers.  Due to their low sugar level they help balance blood sugar levels. And apart from the fact that they taste utterly gorgeous there’s no reason not to include them in your diet!

Rose Petal Tea Smoothie


Berry Smoothie

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • ¼ cup rose petal tea
  • ¼ cup oat milk
  • ⅓ cup oats

Berry Nice Cream

  • 3 frozen bananas
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • ½ cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons oat milk


  1. Freeze the fruit for the berry nice cream for several hours or overnight.
  2. Make the rose petal tea and leave to cool.
  3. Add all the smoothie ingredients into a blender and pulse until smooth.
  4. To make the berry nice cream, blitz all the frozen fruit in a powerful blender until smooth. Using a spatula push some excess fruit down the side of the blender, add the cinnamon and oat milk and blend again.
  5. Pour the smoothie into glasses and top with berry nice cream and dried rose petals.
