This super green juice is the perfect way to start the day, whether it’s to give you more energy or as a magical cure. This juice will give you the extra energy you are craving … or if the morning after the night before, it will cure your tender stomach not to mention your headache (ouch!). Packed with antioxidants and vitamins this will help you in no time.
Kale is my favourite dark green leafy vegetable (along with wheatgrass) for taste and health benefits. It is rich in nutrients, minerals and vitamins, which helps lower cholesterol and acts as a preventative against coronary heart disease.
Prepare your kale and wheatgrass by washing in pure drinking water.
Peel your ginger – yes you need that kick! Ginger is very soothing on the stomach if you’re feeling delicate after a night out…. and I know I’m not alone in saying “it’s happened to me!”
Wash and cut the apples in half. Peel the turmeric. Add these and the rest of the ingredients to your juicer and voilá you have a delicious juice that you end up making over and over again ….even when you’re feeling great!
- 3 cups kale
- 2 apples
- 1 stick celery
- 1 large handful of wheatgrass
- ¼ cup parsley
- ¼ of a cucumber
- ¼ inch cube turmeric
- ½ inch cube of fresh ginger
- I start by placing an apple in the juicer followed by the kale. Then I push all the remaining ingredients in the juicer leaving the 2nd apple to the end. This helps juice the kale easier. Then juice your way to a healthy day!
- You may add extra or less apple depending on the desired sweetness.
